The nephew of North Korean leader turned down a place at Oxford University amid fears he could be murdered in the UK by the tyrant’s globe-trotting assassins, The Mail on Sunday has learned.

Kim Han Sol was living in fear of his uncle’s ruthless hit squads even before the brutal murder of his father Kim Jong Nam in Malaysia last week.

Yesterday a horrifying picture was published of Kim Jong Nam moments from death in an airport chair after he was poisoned by female assassins last Monday.

Pictures of three suspected North Korean agents said to have watched the killing from an airport restaurant were also released – supporting the theory that paranoid tyrant Kim Jong Un ordered the execution of his half-brother.

Han Sol was due to move to the UK after reportedly being offered a place at an Oxford graduate college, starting in September.

His girlfriend is also a student there.

But the offer coincided with warnings from Chinese security officials that the North Korean leader was plotting to kill both the 21-year-old and his father to wipe out the family’s bloodline.

Peace-loving Han Sol, who studied politics in Paris for three years before winning the Oxford place, is seen as a potential stand-in leader should the North Korean regime collapse.

Yesterday he was under armed guard with his mother Ri Hye Kyong and sister Sol Hui, 18, in the Chinese gambling resort of Macau. The Mail on Sunday has learned he has had extra protection from Chinese security agents for months.

Residents in the apartment block where the family is living said armed police had been patrolling there for at least three months before Monday’s assassination.

Han Sol and his father were advised not to travel outside Macau and China where North Korea would be reluctant to send a hit squad for political reasons, security sources said.

Casino-loving womaniser Kim Jong Nam shrugged off the warnings, travelling to Malaysia where he is rumoured to have a mistress, before being poisoned in Kuala Lumpur airport on Monday.

Han Sol appears to have taken the threat more seriously, turning down the UK college offer and deciding to stay in Macau.

‘North Korea depends heavily on Chinese aid and Kim Jong Un wouldn’t dare kill his nephew on Chinese soil,’ said a Beijing source.

‘In Britain, however, Han Sol would be at far greater risk.

‘We don’t know for sure if he turned down the university place because of the warning but it now looks as if that decision may have kept him alive for now.’

Han Sol’s girlfriend, 샌즈카지노 who goes by the English name Sonia and refers to Han Sol as ‘hubby’, is already is studying in the UK, according to a Macau newspaper.

Since taking power in 2011, Kim Jong Un has been obsessed with fear that his brutal regime might be overthrown and his half-brother or nephew installed in his place.

He executed his uncle Jang Sung Taek in 2013 after accusing him of plotting with China to overthrow the regime.

Two South-East Asian women believed to have been duped into poisoning Jong Nam with spray have been arrested over Monday’s assassination. A suspected North Korean agent is also in custody.

Council urged to take down cliff nets stopping sand martins nesting

A local council has been urged to remove netting on cliffs preventing sand martins returning to nest sites after migrating from Africa.

North Norfolk District Council has used it on parts of the cliffs at Bacton to encourage the birds to nest further along the coast as it delivers a major sandscaping project to protect homes and Bacton Gas Terminal.

The council said the use of the temporary specialist netting followed a detailed environmental assessment and had been approved by government conservation agency Natural England, with advice from the RSPB.

But the bird conservation charity has urged the council to remove the nets, saying the authority did not follow its advice.

Jeff Knott, the RSPB’s director 샌즈카지노 for eastern England, said: “The decision by North Norfolk District Council to net the cliffs at Bacton does not follow the advice previously given by the RSPB, nor indeed the council’s own plans for this site.

“We are now calling on the council to remove the nets so that sand martins can return to their nest sites after their long flight from Africa.”

They winter south of the Sahara, and generally return to the same colony as the year before. * Numbers declined by 90% in 1969 after droughts in Sahel, West Africa where they winter, but a partial recovery has been seen from the late eighties to the present day.

The call comes after footage showed a sand martin trying to reach its nesting tunnel in the cliffs, but being blocked by the netting.

The birds winters in Africa before migrating back to the UK to breed in the spring.

A council spokesman said: “We understand that the RSPB has concerns around the temporary netting element of the project and we are intending to meet with them and contractors on site to fully assess what those concerns are.

“Careful consideration of what time of year to progress was given because of the need for good weather and longer days, with the summer significantly safer for both the scheme’s success and for contractors working on the project.

“Without these works the cliff itself is at long-term risk as well as the adjoining communities and the terminal.”

The council said the netting, which covers bare areas of the cliffs that are actively eroding, had been placed to cover the minimum area possible and would be in place for a short a time over one season.

There are three daily checks in place to make sure the netting remains in place and that no birds become entangled in it, the council said.

The measure is part of the Bacton to Walcott sandscaping project which will place 1.8 million cubic metres of sand on the beaches to provide protection to Bacton Gas Terminal and the villages of Bacton and Walcott.

Developers have also faced recent criticism over netting of trees and hedgerows near building sites to prevent birds nesting, making it easier to remove greenery without falling foul of rules against damaging active nests.

On Monday, Communities Secretary James Brokenshire wrote to leading developers reminding them of their legal obligation to consider the impact of projects on local wildlife and the need to take action to protect habitats.

A parliamentary petition to make netting hedgerows to prevent birds from nesting a criminal offence has more than 254,000 signatures.

Another petition calling for legal protection to swallow, swift and martin nest sites, not just their active nests, has more than 35,000 signatures.

Canadian casino says it was hacked, data was stolen

By Alastair Sharp

TORONTO, Nov 10 (Reuters) – A major Canadian casino has been hit by a cyberattack in which sensitive customer, employee and vendor data was stolen, its management said on Thursday, warning there is a risk the information will be published.

The Casino Rama Resort in Ontario said the hacker claimed to have stolen financial reports, patron credit inquiries, collection and debt information, payroll and other data in an intrusion it first became aware of on Friday.

It said the hacker claims the employee data included social insurance numbers and dated back to 2004, with some other stolen data dating back to 2007.

The casino sits on the Rama First Nation about two-hours drive north of Toronto and has about 3 million visitors a year.

Its day-to-day operations are run by CHC Casinos Canada Limited, an indirect subsidiary of Penn National Gaming Inc, under license from the province’s gaming operator.

Penn National did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The breach is at least the second time this year that a casino that sits on aboriginal land has fallen victim to a hack, following a breach at the River Cree Resort and Casino in Alberta in March.

Casino Rama has more 2,500 slot machines, more than 110 gaming tables, 8 restaurants and a 5,000 seat entertainment venue and an attached 300-room hotel.

The casino had gross gaming revenue of C$348.3 million ($259.3 million) in the fiscal year to end-March 2015, Ontario Lottery and 샌즈카지노 Gaming Corporation spokesman Tony Bitonti said.

Casino resorts in Ontario brought in a total of C$1.16 billion in revenue in that period, he said.

Casino Rama said there was no evidence that the hacker was still inside its computer systems, and that it was working with provincial and federal police and private cybersecurity experts to investigate the breach.
